Who can take part
- You are 18 years or older with distributive shock
- You are receiving norepinephrine (a blood-pressure-raising medicine) and your mean arterial pressure is between 75 and 85 mmHg
- You have a PiCCO catheter in place (a thin tube that measures blood flow from the heart)
- You are on a breathing machine (mechanical ventilation)
- Your doctor has decided it is safe to try reducing your norepinephrine dose
