Who can take part

  • You have acute myeloid leukemia (AML) or myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) with a specific change in a gene called TP53.
  • You are planning to have your very first stem cell transplant using cells from a donor.
  • You have a donor match that is 8 out of 8 HLA markers (tissue type).
  • Your overall health is good (Karnofsky score of 70% or higher).
  • Your heart, lungs, kidney, and liver function meet certain minimum levels (tests will be checked).
