GLP-1 medication for lung function and muscle health in COPD

COPDObesity & OverweightSarcopenia

Treatments studied

Part of Brain & nervous system, Hormones & metabolism, Lungs & breathing clinical trials.

This study tests whether a GLP-1 medication (a type of drug that helps with weight and blood sugar) can improve lung function and muscle strength in people with COPD who are overweight or have weight-related health problems. It may offer a new way to treat both breathing and muscle issues in COPD.

Tirzepatide and Exercise for Muscle Health in Overweight Adults

This study tests whether combining a newer weight-loss medication (tirzepatide) with a structured exercise program helps improve muscle strength and function in people who are overweight or obese. Researchers will measure changes in muscle quality and physical fitness over time.

NCT07738276Not yet recruiting· Phase 3
Tirzepatide for heart failure patients with obesity

This trial tests a medicine called tirzepatide, given as an injection, to see if it can improve daily function and symptoms in people with a weak heart (heart failure with reduced ejection fraction) who also have obesity. Tirzepatide works on two natural hormones to help with weight and may also improve heart health.

NCT07740291Recruiting
Tirzepatide and lifestyle study for weight loss

This trial compares two ways to manage weight: taking a GLP-1 medication (like tirzepatide or semaglutide) versus making lifestyle changes without medication. It will help researchers learn which approach works best for people with overweight or obesity.
