Who can take part
- You are 18 years or older.
- You had an ischemic stroke or a transient ischemic attack (TIA), also called a mini-stroke.
- Your imaging test is done between 7 and 14 days after your symptoms started.
- You are stable enough to have an MRI, and you don't have any metal implants or other reasons that would make an MRI unsafe.
- You are able to give written consent to participate.
- You have not had a hemorrhagic stroke or previous carotid artery stenting.
