Who can take part
- Be between 18 and 70 years old
- Have a diagnosis of depression (major depressive disorder) according to standard criteria
- Have tried at least two different antidepressants for at least 8 weeks without adequate response

- Have been on a stable antidepressant medication for at least 1 month before starting the study
