Who can take part
- You’re age 40 to 80 and have a nerve-related condition such as multiple system atrophy, pure autonomic failure, or Parkinson disease.
- When you stand, your blood pressure drops by at least 30 points in the top number within 3 minutes, and other causes have been ruled out.
- You must be able and willing to give informed consent.
- You cannot have high blood pressure while lying down (top number 160 or higher on two separate checks).
- You cannot be pregnant.
- You should not have other major conditions that can damage the nerves (for example, diabetes-related nerve damage or certain blood or autoimmune nerve diseases).
