Who can take part

  • You have Graves’ disease (overactive thyroid) and positive anti-TSH receptor antibodies
  • You have not had thyroid surgery or radioactive iodine in the last 3 months
  • Your thyroid levels are controlled (euthyroid) for at least 2 months using anti-thyroid medicine or levothyroxine
  • Your Graves eye disease has been going on 1 year or less and is currently active (CAS score 3 or higher)
  • You have moderate or moderately severe eye involvement and have not used steroid or other immune-suppressing treatment for eye disease in the last 3 months
  • You are age 35–75 and can safely have orbital radiotherapy (no major eye or health risks like uncontrolled diabetes/retinopathy or glaucoma)
