Who can take part
- You’re a child or teen with type 1 diabetes and a confirmed genetic (DNA) immune problem
- Type 1 diabetes is confirmed with symptoms and testing (blood sugar, islet function, and autoimmune antibodies)
- You have immune-related damage in other parts of the body (for example bowel disease, kidney problems, repeated infections, immune liver or eye inflammation, or other immune organ disease)
- Your genetic test shows a mutation that is known to cause immune dysfunction
- You do not have HIV, hepatitis B, or hepatitis C
- You do not have an active infection, current cancer, or other fatal illnesses
