PET study of brain chemical changes in stroke apathy

This Phase 3 trial uses special brain scans (PET) to understand what brain chemical systems are involved in apathy after stroke. Your results may help researchers better understand the cause of apathy and guide future treatments.

Who can take part

  • Aged 18 to under 75 years
  • Had a stroke about 3 months ago, and your overall disability score is 2 or less
  • You must be in a social security health coverage program
  • You can sign consent, and you’re able to return to the hospital for follow-up visits (at least two)
  • You cannot take certain medicines that can interfere with the PET scan (especially specific heart/brain/anti-allergy and “brain chemical” medications)
  • You must be able to have MRI and PET scan procedures (no MRI/PET allergy or contraindications)
