Study for inherited frontotemporal dementia gene risks

This study recruits adults who come from families with certain known gene changes linked to frontotemporal dementia. It aims to learn more about these inherited forms of dementia using brain scans and research blood testing, which will not provide personal results.

Who can take part

  • You must be age 18 or older
  • You must be from a family with a known disease-causing gene change in GRN or MAPT, or a C9orf72 gene expansion over 30 repeats
  • If you have memory or thinking problems, a caregiver must be available to accompany you
  • You must have someone who can share information about you (an “informant”)
  • You must be able to do testing in the language used for your assessment
  • You must agree to research genetic testing from your blood, with no results shared with you or the study team
