Who can take part

  • Your child is between about 44 weeks after birth (post-menstrual age) and up to 11 years old
  • Your child is planned to be admitted to the pediatric ICU at Vanderbilt Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital
  • Your child needs a breathing machine and sedation
  • Your child has not been on continuous sedation for more than 72 hours before screening
  • Your child is not expected to come off the breathing machine right away at screening
  • Your child can be assessed for brain side effects during the study
