Who can take part

  • Your baby was born before 27 weeks of pregnancy
  • The baby has a PDA seen on an ultrasound/echo, with mostly left-to-right blood flow
  • Your care team plans to start the first course of ibuprofen by IV or by mouth
  • Your baby’s kidneys are working well (urine output and blood tests are above set limits)
  • Your baby’s liver blood tests are not too high
  • The baby’s platelet count is high enough (not too low)
