Who can take part

  • You are age 18 or older and can sign consent.
  • You have mitral valve prolapse confirmed by an echo or heart MRI (leaflets move at least 2 mm).
  • You have ventricular rhythm problems on monitoring (such as frequent extra beats, ventricular tachycardia, or past aborted cardiac arrest).
  • A doctor says you need anti-rhythm medicine because of your ventricular rhythm issues.
  • If you can become pregnant, you must use effective birth control during the study and for 3 days after stopping study drug.
