Who can take part

  • You are age 12 or older
  • You have a confirmed diagnosis of sickle cell disease (Hb SS, Hb SC, Hb Sβ+, or Hb Sβ0)
  • You are not pregnant and not breastfeeding
  • You have not had gene therapy or a stem cell transplant in the past
  • Your current blood counts are not too low (neutrophils ≥ 1000/mm³ and platelets ≥ 50,000/mm³)
  • You have not had certain TB test results or active TB
