Who can take part
- You have severe narrowing in a kidney artery from plaque build-up (at least 70% by a special kidney blood-vessel x-ray/angiogram).
- You also have one of these high-risk situations: hard-to-control high blood pressure, rapidly worsening kidney function, or repeated hospital heart-failure flare-ups.
- Your average blood pressure reading over 24 hours is high even while taking at least 3 blood pressure medicines (including a water pill/diuretic if you can take it) at the best dose.
- A pregnancy test is required and pregnancy is not allowed (or you must not be able to become pregnant).
- You must be able to give informed consent, and you must not have had a prior kidney transplant or prior kidney artery angioplasty/stent treatment.
