Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older.
  • Your stroke started less than 24 hours ago.
  • You have a mild stroke with a specific score (NIHSS 2-5) and at least one symptom like confusion, face droop, arm or leg weakness, trouble speaking, or ignoring one side.
  • A brain scan shows a large artery blockage (in the carotid or middle cerebral artery) that caused your stroke.
  • You have had a special CT or MRI scan showing enough brain tissue at risk.
  • You or your family can sign a consent form and agree to long-term follow-up.
