Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 90 years old
  • You have had symptoms of a pulmonary embolism (like sudden shortness of breath or chest pain) for less than 2 weeks
  • A CT scan shows a clot in the main or branch lung arteries and that your right heart is enlarged
  • Your blood pressure is stable (above 90 mmHg) without needing strong medicines
  • Your heart rate is under 130 beats per minute before the procedure
