High-frequency spinal cord stimulation for diabetic nerve pain

Who can take part

  • You have diabetes and are between 18 and 80 years old.
  • You have had pain in both lower legs for more than 6 months.
  • The pain feels like stabbing, electric shocks, or burning.
  • You have numbness or unusual sensations in the legs, and your doctor has confirmed nerve changes with special tests.
  • You have not had low back surgery or a spinal injury in the past 6 months.
  • You do not have severe heart or blood vessel disease, a bleeding disorder, cancer, or an active infection.

Testing a spinal cord stimulator for diabetic nerve pain in the legs

This trial is studying a device called the Medtronic Inceptiv™ Closed-Loop DTM Spinal Cord Stimulator to see if it can help reduce pain from diabetic peripheral neuropathy (nerve damage caused by diabetes) in the lower legs.
