Who can take part
- You have a narrowing (stenosis) greater than 50% in at least one carotid artery due to plaque buildup.
- You have not had surgery on your neck or received radiation treatment to your neck area.
- Your carotid artery narrowing is not caused by a vascular inflammatory disease (like vasculitis).
- You are not pregnant.
- Your carotid artery is positioned low enough in the neck so it can be seen clearly with an ultrasound probe.
