Who can take part

  • You are currently admitted to a hospital, but you are not in the intensive care unit (ICU).
  • You are 18 years or older.
  • A Medical Emergency Team was called because you had a serious problem like trouble breathing, very fast or very slow heartbeat, very low blood pressure, sudden confusion, or a drop in consciousness.
  • Your kidney function is good (blood creatinine level is 2 mg/dL or lower).
  • You are not currently receiving chest compressions (cardiac massage).
  • You have not taken phosphocreatine in the last 30 days.
