Nitrate supplement with exercise training in older adults

This study tests whether taking a nitrate supplement (from foods like beets) while doing a guided exercise program helps older adults get more health benefits from exercise. Researchers want to see if nitrates improve heart and muscle function.

Inorganic nitrate plus exercise for heart failure performance

This Phase 2 study tests whether taking inorganic nitrate can improve exercise ability and heart-function symptoms in people with heart failure with reduced pumping. It also checks whether the treatment is safe when combined with an exercise program.

Breathing training and nitrate for altitude exercise

This study tests whether breathing training and a natural nitrate supplement (from beets) can improve how well you exercise in conditions that simulate high altitude. You'll do cycling workouts while we measure your performance.

Beetroot for preventing muscle loss in healthy men

This study tests if a natural substance (nitrate) from beets can help prevent muscle loss in young men when a leg is immobilized. You would stay at a research center for about 10 days with one leg in a cast to simulate a temporary injury.

Nitrate supplement for chest pain in women

This trial tests whether taking a simple nitrate supplement (similar to the nitrates in beets) can improve blood flow in the tiny vessels of the heart for women who have chest pain but no blockages in their major arteries. It may help if your heart's small vessels aren't working as well as they should.

Exercise testing study for people with heart failure

This study looks at exercise intolerance in heart failure, using heart and lung tests to understand how symptoms affect activity. It may help researchers better identify what limits exercise and how heart failure impacts quality of life.
