Who can take part

  • You have a type of thyroid cancer called differentiated thyroid cancer, and the largest tumor is 4 cm or smaller.
  • No signs that the cancer has spread to lymph nodes on the side of your neck or to other parts of your body.
  • You care a lot about how your neck looks after surgery (you want minimal scarring).
  • You had surgery to remove your entire thyroid gland and the lymph nodes in the center of your neck.
  • You have not had previous neck surgery or radiation therapy to the neck.
  • Your vocal cords are working normally (checked by a special camera before surgery).
