Who can take part

  • You have major depression (diagnosed by a psychiatrist using DSM-5 criteria).
  • You've had depression for at least 12 months and tried two or more antidepressants that didn't work.
  • Your depression is severe (score of 20 or higher on a standard depression questionnaire).
  • You don't have other serious medical conditions, epilepsy, or a recent history of suicide attempts.
  • You are not pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning pregnancy during the study.
