Who can take part
- You have severe leg pain at rest, a non-healing wound, or gangrene due to blocked leg arteries.
- You are scheduled for a minimally invasive procedure (like angioplasty or stenting) to open a blocked artery in your leg.
- An imaging test shows a severe blockage (over 70%) in a leg artery at or below the groin.
- The blocked artery can be treated with a balloon or stent, and the artery below it stays open to the ankle.
- You have not had a major amputation on the same leg or a large amputation on the other leg in the past year.
- You do not have a very large, deep wound or infection in the foot bone that would need complex surgery.
