Who can take part
- You are 18 or older and willing to participate.
- You have a thyroid nodule (fluid-filled or solid) that causes symptoms or is bothersome, or you have Graves disease (an overactive thyroid).
- Your nodule is large enough to press on nearby areas or needs treatment, and may involve more than one nodule.
- Your nodule has been checked with an ultrasound and fine needle aspiration (a small sample taken) and confirmed as benign (not cancer).
- You are comfortable lying flat on your back for at least 2 hours with your head slightly elevated.
- You have discussed this option with a specialist and are willing to try embolization instead of other treatments like surgery or radiofrequency ablation.
