Who can take part
- You are between 18 and 80 years old.
- You have severe asthma and your doctor has said you can start a new biologic medicine (like omalizumab or dupilumab), OR you are a healthy volunteer with no chronic lung disease.
- If you smoke, you must have smoked less than 5 pack-years in your life (for healthy volunteers).
- You must be willing to have MRI and CT scans of your lungs and perform breath-hold maneuvers.
- You do not have any metal implants or devices in your body (like pacemakers) that cannot be removed.
- If you can become pregnant, you must agree to use effective birth control during the study and for 8 weeks after.
- You are not pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning to become pregnant during the study.
