Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older.
  • You have a chronic subdural hematoma that is causing symptoms and is larger than 10 mm on a brain scan.
  • You are scheduled to have a single or double burr hole procedure to drain the hematoma.
  • You do not have a mechanical heart valve.
  • You have not had a pulmonary embolism or heart attack in the last year requiring strong blood thinners.
