  • You are 18 years or older
  • You are in the ICU and have been on a breathing machine for less than 7 days
  • You have been diagnosed with ARDS within the last 24 hours
  • You are not pregnant
  • You do not have a known allergy to furosemide or heparin
  • You do not have severe kidney, liver, or bleeding problems
