Who can take part

  • You had a stroke caused by a clot (ischemic stroke) and received a clot-busting drug (intravenous thrombolysis).
  • A CT scan of your head was done when you arrived at the hospital.
  • Another CT or MRI scan was done 12 to 24 hours after the clot-busting treatment.
  • The final size of your stroke was more than 5 milliliters.
  • Your doctors used a scoring system called ASPECTS to evaluate your CT scan.

This study tests whether giving a clot-busting medicine through an IV can help people who have had a stroke while taking a common blood thinner (apixaban, dabigatran, edoxaban, or rivaroxaban). It may be an option if your last dose of the blood thinner was 12 to 48 hours before the stroke and you arrive at the hospital within 4.5 hours of symptoms starting.
