This study tests if increasing physical activity can help slow down cognitive (thinking) decline in people with iRBD, a sleep disorder that often leads to Parkinson's or dementia. You'll use a smartphone and a FitBit to track your activity and receive coaching.

Who can take part

  • You are between 50 and 80 years old.
  • You have been diagnosed with iRBD (a sleep condition where you physically act out dreams) through a sleep test, OR you are a healthy volunteer without iRBD.
  • You currently do less than 2 hours of sports or outdoor activities per day and average fewer than 10,000 steps daily.
  • You own a smartphone with a screen at least 4.6 inches (iPhone 6s or newer, or Android with Android 9 or later) and know how to use it. It cannot be a Huawei P8 Lite, P9 Lite, P20 Lite, or Xiaomi Mi 6.
  • You speak German fluently (native or C1/C2 level).
  • You do not have serious heart problems, or difficulty using your hands or thinking clearly that would make it hard to use a smartphone.
