Who can take part
- You have acute respiratory failure and are on a breathing machine (mechanical ventilation).
- You need blood pressure medicine given through an IV (like nicardipine or nitroglycerin) in the ICU.
- Your BMI must be less than 50 and you should not have major swelling under the skin that could interfere with the EIT belt.
- You must not have a pacemaker, defibrillator, or metal device in your chest.
- You cannot be pregnant, breastfeeding, or have a known allergy to nicardipine or nitroglycerin.
