Cell therapy with heart bypass surgery for advanced heart failure

Advanced Heart FailureIschemic Heart Failure

Part of Heart & circulation clinical trials.

This trial tests whether injecting special cells (HiCM-188) during bypass surgery can help improve heart function in people with advanced heart failure. The cells may help repair damaged heart tissue and improve your heart's ability to pump blood.

Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 75 years old
  • You have advanced heart failure (NYHA class III–IVa) despite taking heart medications as prescribed
  • Your heart needs bypass surgery for blocked arteries
  • Your heart's pumping strength is between 20–45% (ejection fraction)
  • The thick muscle wall of your left ventricle is at least 8 mm thick in areas where cells would be injected
  • You do not have certain other heart conditions like viral infection of the heart, amyloidosis, blood clots, or valve disease

Heart cell patch for severe heart failure

This trial tests a patch made from lab-grown heart muscle cells that is placed on the heart during bypass surgery. It aims to see if the patch can improve heart function in people with severe heart failure.

NCT07347197Not yet recruiting· Phase 1/Phase 2
Study of heart muscle cells for heart failure

This trial tests whether heart muscle cells made from stem cells, injected into the heart, can improve heart function in people with heart failure and a weak heart pump. It may be an option for those who are not getting enough help from other treatments.

NCT06258447Recruiting
CardiAMP bone marrow cell therapy for heart failure

This trial tests a new treatment using your own bone marrow cells to help your heart pump better. It's for people with heart failure after a heart attack whose heart function is moderately reduced.

NCT07496372Recruiting· Phase 3
Stem cell injection for advanced heart failure

This trial tests a treatment made from stem cells that are turned into heart muscle cells and injected directly into the heart. It is for people with advanced heart failure who are already on the best available medicines and who are scheduled to have bypass surgery.

NCT06866600Not yet recruiting· Phase 1/Phase 2
Stem cell therapy with heart pump or bypass for heart failure

This trial tests a new treatment using heart muscle cells made from stem cells (iPSC-CMs) combined with either a heart pump (LVAD) or bypass surgery (CABG) for people with end-stage heart failure. The goal is to see if adding these cells can help the heart work better.

NCT07265349Recruiting· Phase 1/Phase 2
Stem cells plus bypass surgery for chronic heart failure

This trial tests whether injecting stem cells from umbilical cord tissue into the heart muscle during bypass surgery can improve heart function in people with chronic heart failure. It is for patients who are already scheduled for bypass surgery and have a weakened heart pump (LVEF between 21% and 40%).
