This study tests if lumateperone, a medication for bipolar depression, can also help with weight and aging in people with obesity. You may qualify if you have bipolar I depression and a body mass index (BMI) over 30.

Who can take part
- Aged 18 to 65 years old
- Diagnosed with bipolar I disorder, currently in a depressed episode without psychosis
- Current depressive episode has lasted at least 4 weeks but no more than 12 months
- Body mass index (BMI) over 30
- Able to give informed consent
- No active substance use disorder in the past month
- Not currently pregnant or planning to become pregnant, and willing to use birth control if applicable
- No previous treatment with lumateperone
- No moderate or severe liver problems
- No history of seizures
