Combination treatment for lung cancer spread to the lining of the brain

Leptomeningeal Metastasis From Lung Cancer

Part of Cancer clinical trials.

This trial tests a new combination of two drugs for people with a specific type of lung cancer that has spread to the lining of the brain and spinal cord. The treatment aims to target the cancer cells and may help improve symptoms and survival.

NCT07751536Recruiting
Proton radiation and intrathecal chemo for lung cancer that has spread to the brain lining

This trial tests a combination of proton radiation to the brain and spine plus chemotherapy given directly into the fluid around the brain and spinal cord. It is for people with a specific type of lung cancer (EGFR-mutant non-small cell lung cancer) that has spread to the lining of the brain and has continued to grow despite taking a third-generation TKI medicine like osimertinib.

Intrathecal pemetrexed and bevacizumab for lung cancer brain spread

This trial tests a treatment given directly into the fluid around the brain and spinal cord (intrathecal injection) using two drugs—pemetrexed and bevacizumab—for people with non-small cell lung cancer that has spread to that area (leptomeningeal metastases). It may be an option if your current treatment is no longer working.

Study of pemetrexed plus nivolumab for lung cancer that has spread to the lining of the brain

This trial tests a combination of two drugs, pemetrexed and nivolumab, given directly into the fluid around the brain and spinal cord. It is for people with a specific type of lung cancer (non-squamous non-small cell) that has spread to the lining of the brain and has not responded to other treatments.

Double-dose targeted therapy plus chemo for lung cancer spread to brain lining

This trial tests a stronger dose of an EGFR-targeted drug combined with bevacizumab and chemotherapy into the spinal fluid for patients with non-small cell lung cancer that has spread to the lining of the brain and is no longer responding to standard treatment.

NCT06537297Not yet recruiting· Phase 2
Study of a drug combo for lung cancer that spread to the spinal fluid

This trial tests a combination of three drugs (pemetrexed given into the spinal fluid, high-dose furmonertinib by mouth, and bevacizumab) for people with a specific type of lung cancer that has spread to the lining of the brain or spinal cord (leptomeningeal metastases). The goal is to see if this treatment can help control the cancer in this hard-to-treat area.
