Brain imaging study for early Parkinson's signs in people with REM sleep disorder

Who can take part

  • You must be able to give informed consent.
  • For the RBD group: You need a confirmed diagnosis of REM sleep behavior disorder (RBD) via a sleep study.
  • For the healthy control group: You must be age-matched to the RBD group and have no significant neurological or psychiatric illness.
  • You must not have any ferrous (metal) objects in or on your body, or a pacemaker or other implanted electronic device.
  • You must not have claustrophobia (fear of enclosed spaces) and must be able to lie still in an MRI scanner.
  • You must not have a history of drug or alcohol abuse (unrelated to medication) in the last 6 months, and no participation in drug-testing trials in the last 6 months.
