  • You are between 6 and 70 years old.
  • You can have an MRI scan without needing sedation.
  • You may have sickle cell disease (HbSS or beta thalassemia null) or be healthy.
  • You do not have significant facial or skull deformities.
  • You have no metal in or on your body that would make an MRI unsafe.
