Who can take part
- Be 18 years or older
- Have documented retina or optic nerve damage that is unlikely to naturally improve, or is progressing
- If your vision is still relatively good, you may qualify if it’s limited (about 20/30 or worse) and/or your visual field test is abnormal
- Have had eye surgery for the eye condition at least 3 months ago and your condition is stable
- Be on any required medicines (if you take them) and your doctor feels the eye condition is stable on that treatment
- Be healthy enough for the procedure based on clearance from your primary care clinician, and be able to safely get thorough eye exams and follow-up visits
