This study tests whether adding surgery to remove the main lung tumor improves outcomes for people with stage 4 lung cancer that has a specific EGFR mutation and only limited spread. If you qualify, you will take the targeted drug osimertinib for 12 weeks, and if the tumor responds, you may be randomly assigned to either continue the drug alone or have the main tumor surgically removed and then continue the drug.
